Looking at new T6 beach. I'm pretty fine with a free base white colour but practically wise is metallic paint way better?

Nope not from the research I have done. Base is easier and cheaper to match and repair than metallic which is easier than the pearlescent. Saying that when I do leap it will be a metallic. I prefer the look and in my experience they hide minor blemishes better.

Hard to answer.
What do you mean by "practically wise"?
And, for you, what aspect would make one paint "way better" than another?

My Cali is has pearlescent paint, my car has metallic paint.
When clean, both look lovely and sparkly in the sunshine.
When caked in mud (see avatar photo), both look dirty (as would a plain paint).

If you're fussed about resale value then it might well be worth it, if you're never going to sell it then its up to you :)

Well, for example I recall reading here about better rust protection with metallic :)
Dealer said it is a sicker paint, might even insulate the car better o_O

I reckon a Beach should be in solid colour - thats the spirit of the thing - the Orange is def the new Yellow

There is orange? I've checked that "yellow" card colour at dealership and it looks more like weird green..
Worse than that not a single dealer has any car in that colour to get an idea how it looks..

Candy white looks great and saved £600 but spent it on Cascavels lol.

If paying for paint, personally I would go for a T6 specific colour, rather than one that was available on the T5.

Come sale time it will help distinguish yours as a newer model.
