Anyone else watching Million Pound Motorhomes on channel 5?

Some interesting vehicles, but I’d still rather have a Cali over them (well maybe except the £350k Mercedes custom built overlander which the couple are using for a 10 year round the world trip)

Have watched, keep thinking something larger, more luxurious would be great, but living in Cornwall our Cali fits the roads, lanes and we can get to all the quiet, lovely places off the main roads.

Not sure if you can get the English subtitles but here is
a great vid. Its of the guy himself who designed it.

I just have three questions:
1. Where do you park them?
2. Where do you store them when they are not in use?
3. Where do you get the money to buy one?

There's a lovely Olympic blue Cali SE (just like mine ) on last night's episode belonging to Matt someone (tv person)

I spoke with a couple of German owners in Southern Spain during the winter 2017, also in southern Italy.

They had bought them to live in during the winter, and go to different parts of southern Europe each winter. They do this as an alternative to having a second home, where they would be stuck to one place year after year (unless they sell up).

Migration starts around October time and return around Easter.

I don’t know how they afford them, but Germany has plenty of very rich pensioners.

I also bumped into two Norwegian coach type campervans in Finland. They had been hired.

I’ve no idea where they store them, but if you have €1,000,000 spare I’m sure you could pay a farmer to store you coach in a barn over the summer. Or maybe they get hired out.

I met this owner in Greece. He was an industrialist and had built this as a prototype with a view to going into commercial production. He said that it has cost more than half a million euros and he expected the sale price to be near a million and he didn't think he would succeed. Consequently, he had abandoned the project, but had a nice one off expedition vehicle.
Like @Amarillo, I have met a number of predominantely German owners who have spent years travelling in Europe and Africa, some with very sophisticated and expensive vehicles. It seems to be something they do.

I can see the appeal but it’s not for me.

The beauty of a small camper is that there is no room for anything but essentials. Consequently all of your entertainment needs have to come from outside the Cali, the great outdoors, that’s the life we’re after.
