Hi all, I am hoping that someone will be willing to help me with a few questions relating to my recently acquired 2014 Beach. Forgive me but I cant seem to find an answer to my 1st question anywhere..
1. When parked up with ignition off and locking up can I leave the 12v system running to keep my fridge cool box running or does the ignition need to be on?
2. The blind on the non-opening side- should it have a wire running down both left and right or just on the left as you look at it as mine does? It does not function as it should and needs caressing up and down..
3. The bike rack is held up by one of the fabric wheel holders looped around the vertical section, can anyone recommend a clip or the like to secure properly please?
4. Is there an easy way to get light up in the pop up roof, I see there is one 12v socket there but no lights?
5. There is the original mattress in the roof which is about 40mm thick. I have a 40mm duvalay mattress to go on top of this, should I be ok to close the roof whilst leaving this up there or not?

If anyone can help me with any of the above I would be very grateful before she/he (undecided as yet) is put to use for the first time this weekend!

Cheers
Jonathan

hi and welcome,
1) Ignition doesn't need to be on. 12v sockets behind the front seats run off the leisure battery (under the left hand seat). Dashboard sockets use the main vehicle battery. Most fridges will have a low voltage shut off so you dont drop the leisure battery to low (and damage the battery)
2) Think there is a wire both sides but cant check at the moment.
3) Cant help as I dont have the VW rack
4) I use a plug in flexi light https://www.amazon.co.uk/Copilot-Flexible-interior-connected-cigarette/dp/B00KYK97QO?th=1
5) NO, 40mm duvaly will be much to thick and prevent/damage the roof on closure. You might get away with a thick sheet.

Have fun
