I write this with some trepidation but we have just bought a 2013 T5 van and had it converted. I feel a bit of a heretic reading all the posts from owners of genuine Californias but why not put it out there . Who knows I might tempt others who have not had the courage to come out and share their experience.
Already realise though that we all have a lot in common . For my first van I just couldn’t justify the money for a Cali but looking forward to being a voyeur on the site !!

Welcome, it’s not the vehicle but the life style that counts. Hope you have great fun with it.

Welcome allong , very brave of you .... ;)
....we would love to hear about your adventures !

Welcome. A great deal of the conversations on this site are about the adventures that people have in their Campervan and the bits and bobs they like to use to make it their own and comfortable. Congratulations on your first van, I suspect it won’t be your last.

I totally agree with the prior comments it about the lifestyle rather than the van you used to enjoy the lifestyle.
:welcome

Thanks everyone. Feel welcome already . A driveway awning is needed next . There must be a forum for that ?

How very dare you indeed!

many on here have had vans of various descriptions.

Good to see ya, enjoy van life, you’ll be hooked for life.

Let’s see some photos (please)

All are Welcome if you embrace the Campervan Lifestyle.

But I’m afraid you have failed at the 1st hurdle. Where are the PICTURES?

Only joking, but you have to give us some pictures, inside and outside.

We dont pick it up until next Friday but will put some on then i promise.

I started with a converted T4, only windows and a bed. I had no van so many years and missed it so now I have a T5 beach, somewhat more advanced but my old van was used a lot too. Enjoy your van.

Sorry timbo ,I sent my request for photos several hours ago , no service on the beach !
When you collect it make the forum a priority to share some photos of the new arrival.

:thumbWelcome and don't be concerned as you showed good sense in converting a VW. Does not matter one jot as long as you enjoy and have a good time. Happy travels

First van was a 1970 low light bay Devon conversion so I’m sure you are in good company on this forum :welcome:welcome:welcome

"NO CALI BUT VW CONVERSION - HOW VERY DARE I !"

Welcome to the forum and 'no neither do I'.

Here is where we have camped for a couple of nights this weekend, I hope that you find places just as beautiful and peaceful. Plenty more like it on https://www.searchforsites.co.uk/

I’ve had a couple of calis and have now jumped ship to a westy and still here as it’s a great forum!
Your still a vw, and I think there’s some Marco Polos and even some big whites on here so don’t worry.
