Hi Everyone

First of all thanks to everyone for your informative posts that have guided us to finally make our decisions.

After may year of just looking, the deal has been done and now just waiting.

Our new adventures are just beginning with the order being placed for a California Ocean

Our chosen spec is -

204 DSG 4Motion
Bamboo Garden Green
Adaptive Cruise Control (130 mph) - Other wise we need to pay for the Multi Function Steering wheel
Side Scan
LED Headlights
Driver Alert
Front & Rear Sensors with Camera
Black Awning
Green Heat insulating Glass - Dealer advised to add Privacy film later for a darker glass
Lockable Storage Compartment
High Beam Asist
Removable Tow bar
Discover Media Navigation
Hill Decent
4 Keys
80l Fuel Tank
Light and Vision Package
Mud Flaps
Alloy Spare

The jury is still out on Bed Extender and 17" Black Cascavel Alloys, but would welcome any of your thoughts on the Spec and "essentials" that we many of missed.

No real indication of a delivery date yet, dealer indicated may not get a tentative built date for about a month, and at the moment best guess for delivery in early 2017

Its now getting all very real.

Very good news :thumb
Welcome on board.

I think we have the same issue with picking most of the options

Here's mine due Sep/Oct

Went for the laminated glass for the same reasons.

Jury didn't stay out long long on the Cascavel's and went for the bed extender and comfort mattress after much thought. It may go in the loft but costs more later so went for it.

WOW, what a spec, but a couple of observations I would make,
  1. Is Adaptive Cruise Control,130 mph, necessary when 99 mph ACC is available for the Ocean, despite it previously being indicating in the options list that it was only available for the Beach. Cost £740+VAT.

  2. You have added Hill Descent which I understand helps descent in slippery conditions, more important aspect might be to have Mechanical Diff Lock, to help in slippery conditions at all times. 1Y4 Cost £485+VAT!!

  3. Bike rack, a must have for the ” Cali Look “ and for drying your towels on, but don't get it muddy by putting bikes on it. Cost £449.33+VAT

  4. Alloy spare. You shouldn't run a 4 Motion with tyres of different tread depth on the same axle, therefore it will probably spend all its time under the vehicle, until you visit LEGOLAND and it gets pinched. Steel will do.
And most importantly,

  1. 5 Year Extended Warranty, get it while it's available!

Definitely agree regarding Alloy Spare on 4 Motion.
If worn tyre has to be replaced both tyres on same axle must have a tyre tread that is within 3 mm. Steel spare, or any spare must be treated as a get u home tyre, minimum distance maximum 50mph.

An alloy spare is worth having just to have the matching rim for when one gets badly curbed or bent hitting a pothole.
When the original tyres get down to 5mm you need to swap one for the spare, a spare with 5mm of tread would be in tolerance for use with the rest of the tyres being anywhere between 8 and 2mm

Logic for the ACC at 130 mph, is that it worked out cheeper than paying for the Multi Function Steering Wheel that you need with the 90mph ACC option (MF Steering Wheel its a no cost option with 130mph ACC).

Spoken to the dealer today and added Diff Lock, better to have it and not use it, or need it and not have it.

The Alloy Spare is now off, put the money towards the Diff Lock.

Bike rack is now on the Xmas list.

Apparently my order is in the queue, to go into the queue to get a tentative build date.

Where did you get the information from that your require to pay for a Multifunction Steering Wheel with 90 mph ACC as an additional option, but not with the 130 mph ACC?

We ordered SusiBus T6 and paid for the 90mph ACC and it came complete with a Multi Function Steering wheel, we didn't have to pay for the MFS as a separate option.

It shows when using the UK configurator on the VW commercial site. Dealer must be quoting from that ?

We have gone back to the dealer to have him check, don't really want to play for ACC at 130 mph, which we know will never be used

Thursday Update

Order passed to VW, apparently you can not have ACC at 99mph without paying for the MF Steering wheel, so we are back to ACC at 130mph and a no cost option for the MF Steering wheel.

However the order finally confirmed and in, just waiting for a build date..

Well a month after the order went in we have a tentative build date of week 50, so we could have a Christmas Cali, delivery is expected some time towards the end of Jan.

The question now is, do we wait until March to pick her up and have a nice new 17 plate.

Decisions, Decisions....
