North and South America family road trip in a Cali - Behind the Curve

I’ve just stumbled across this channel, called ‘Behind the Curve’, on YouTube and started watching it. A European family of 4 travelling around North and South America in their T5 Cali hightop which they shipped over. Their channel series started about a year ago and their latest upload was 3 months ago, so pretty current.

This episode shows their van and how they’re living in it, including indoor showering! I’m not sure whether the hightop Cali was ever available in the UK/ in right hand drive, but it’s a cool alternative to the pop top.

Great video..Been posted a few times on here: the high top is an expensive aftermarket one. I’m sure someone will remind us what it is.

Thanks. I read before that the hightop was a VW factory option in Europe, rather than aftermarket. This website suggests the same: http://www.camper-van-fun.com/vw-california.html

Here you go. It’s made by Polyroof and costs about 10000 Euros. I believe VW offered them as an option at one time. Search polyroof on here for more info.
