Not starting easily

When I try to start my T5 California at the start of the day, it sounds like the main battery is low. It does just start. But, after I have driven a mile or two and stop, it starts straight away. I checked the voltage and it was 12.14 Volts. Any advice please?

Is that the voltage before Ignition On?
How old is the vehicle and is this the Original Battery?

That's the voltage with engine and ignition off. The battery is about 11 years old

That voltage is too low it needs to be above 12.5v

Does sound ilke your battery has reached the end of its life. You could try a battery conditioner but at 11years your battery has lasted very well indeed!

You’ve given the answer to your problem. The Starter Battery has had it. Cold weather exposes a failing battery and at 11 years on you have done well.
