I have just received a quote from VW France that nearly gave me a heart attack. After paying over 1 000 euros for a service on my GT 6 2020 45 000kms last week, I have this quote for: replacement of a seal due to an oil leak, including replacement of the distribution kit that must be done during the operation: 2 000 euros.
Madre de dios! Is this real? Can someone advise me please? Am I being ripped off?

What is the cost on the quote for parts vs the cost for labour?

4x114 euros labour
1 240 euro kit distribution
Belts 72 euro
Flange 137.80 euro
+ small charges for parts

Quotation is in French, but that's it essentially. This vehicle has cost me a fortune, now this shock.

I make that 1K, not 2K. Not sure if before or after VAT, but let's say 1.2K Euro, or just over 1k GBP.

The labour cost, assuming a main dealer, looks about right.

So basically 4 hours work plus parts.

Again, all seems right.

Now - should it have gone wrong and why is it not warranty, is a different question, assuming you have a warranty that has not ran out.

The whole job would be a lot cheaper at an independent.
