Hi,
Was planning to check and top up my oil if needed, the dipstick level was a touch under so thought I’d top it up.
When I took off the oil filler cap I found scum lining the sides of the tube down into the motor.
Anyone know what it is, and should I be concerned and get to the garage asap!
The engine hasn’t had a long enough run to get hot enough, it doesn’t help as the the filler tube has a fairly long neck which is in a cold airstream so condensation forms near the cap. Rarely happens in the summer, it’s normal nothing to worry about.
