Two 9 litre boxes as per the following link;

http://www.lakeland.co.uk/5441/9-litre-Lock-&-Lock-Bread-Box

stacked on top of each other, fit in the fridge, leaving enough room at the side for say, a bottle of milk, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water, as I've tried to show in the photo below. The advantages we have found are;

1. Optimises use of available space.
2. Allows for much better organisation - as opposed to the mess we used to get in using the wire cage provided, rooting about looking for things underneath.
3. Avoids food swimming in the bottom of the fridge in the water(?) that the fridge seems to produce.
4. The boxes can be taken out of the fridge individually to find stuff, without having to leave the fridge lid open - particularly useful in this current hot weather!

The only possible disadvantage I can think of is you can't fit more full sized bottles in - or other bigger items - but then you can always take the boxes out!

Actually the boxes also fit well on the rear cupboard shelves and in the kitchen cupboards.

Hope this helps :)
