Hi, I am looking to find the best battery or USB operated internal camera - preferably with internal connection for if I am by the campfire and the dog is in the van (with the window open and all safety measures followed). Is there a camera that anyone could recommend?

It's connected to power, not usb one, but you can always use your van battery. There's option to follow pet, but I doubt it would be needed in a van. I use mine to see what my cat is doing at night.

We looked for ages but couldn't find anything suitable. We ended up using an old mobile phone with a cheap data SIM and an app called 'Dog Monitor'.

Dash cam.

Simply swing it around to monitor internals.

Buy dash cam that can send alerts and images to mobile.

With dash cam you are covered both ways....when driving and when want to monitor internals!

I’ve been experimenting with using a Blink Mini security (usb powered) camera linked via my mobile phone WI-FI hotspot to my Blink account. I’m hoping that I should be able to access the camera from the same phone if the Wi-Fi is in range. If out of range via the web on a second phone.

Seems to work!
