Pitches with fishing

Just wondered if there were any fellow maggot danglers on here (sounds wrong I know) who know of any sites they recommend where there’s a fishing lake.
My son has just turned 7 and I’d love to find a spot where we can fish within a stones throw of the van, or even better, where the pitch is smack bang by the lakeside.
Not quite ready for rough camping yet and we live just west of London so somewhere no more than a couple of hours drive or so away if possible.

Not a fisherman myself, but I met some friends here a few weeks ago and they spent a whole day fishing and were catching fish all day long. You can also choose a pitch with your own gate onto the lake, maybe a little to far from London for a weekend though.
