Just sitting here in outdoor temperatures of -10.9 c and beginning to think ‘where to next Spring’ .
Cali Ocean DSG 150, me, husband and black Labrador Tavish looking for inspiration on travel suggestions. UK only as not going through the Brexit bother if ‘dog jabs’ etc.
All suggestions greatly appreciated.

Why wait until next spring? You have some of the most beautiful part of our country right at your doorstep. Spin up the heater in the Cali and enjoy the winter wonderland that is the Highlands!

We plan our trips around walking. This has taken us to some wonderful places. I know of friends who use their vehicles around activities that they love - one of them is visiting all major water bodies inland. Another couple are doing the south to north coast to coast over a few years. I thin as of now they have crossed somewhere above Birmingham. We also did the three peaks over a year and the Cali was our base camp!

If you have a theme that you would like to follow, post that on here and I am sure you will get more focussed suggestions around that.

Enjoy your adventures!

Suggesting getting hold of the ‘Take The Slow Road’ books for campervan trips, the Scotland one is great, and one covers England and Wales. Theyre good at both identifying great scenic trips, what to see, and good campsites.

We‘ve just built a trip up the west coast of Scotland and finishing around Speyside next spring, and based it on a number of the suggested routes in Take The Slow Road.

The Outer Hebrides is a great adventure. Early spring is a good time.
Or maybe Mull for a single island trip.

I’m not hanging around until Spring. I’ve got a festive trip across to Ireland (Stranraer to Belfast ferry) to visit family nr Dublin plus a bit of touring.

Then get back on 5th Jan for a quick re-group before heading to far N West Scotland for 7-8nights prior to starting a new job in February. If Scotland is properly snowed in during late Jan, then I’ll head to Normandy to meet up with my Uncle & Aunt who are touring N France then.

Looking forward to kicking off the new camping season early on. :)

A few favourites of our ‘out of season’ places we like to visit.
Arran, Mull, Western Isles, Northumberland, Peak District, Yorkshire Dales / Moors, Lyn Peninsula. All good for dogs.

He he ... that is called - making good use of time before a new job start :thumb

Enjoy the trips with the flexibility that the Cali provides.

Chunnel out late Jul, back late Aug. (Can't quite book that far ahead yet)
Few nights meeting up with buddies in the south coast of France.
Blank canvas other than that ... suggestions welcome.

We are taking our dog with us to France over the summer half term. Animal health certificate is £100 plus about €20 for the worming tablet for the return journey.

Cheaper than kennels.

Thanks I’ll check that out

Did your dog need to get rabies vaccine ?

We paid £185 for AHC (already had rabies jab) plus 45 euros for worming tablet. However the vet in France did a mini health check as part of the consultation as well as give the dog the worning tablet - so thought that was fairly reasonable. There is a vet in Folkstone who specialises in AHCs and charge around £95 - order online and collect on day/day before travel.

Quite right: a few years ago we visited Barra, Vatersay, South and North Uist (a bit forced as the ferry presumably sank due to a storm at sea with us on it and we had to reroute but that's a whole different story), then Skye and then Mull (of Kintyre). We were away for just under two weeks and did this in April, Easter holiday. It was very beautiful, rough and indeed: even somewhat adventurous ;)

We still want to do Lewis and Harris but next Easter holiday we go to the German Alps.
