Hello. My wiper motor failed on the M25 in heavy rain. Not an experience I wish to repeat. After turning the wipers off and on again, I managed to coax a bit of life into the motor, getting a few wipes at a time. Fortunately, I was close to home and managed to get there, albeit slowly! I called VW Assist, who came out within a couple o hours. They declared that the wiper motor was indeed faulty and managed to get a fault code (crucial, I gather, fo a warranty claim). They came back two days later and fitted a new (genuine VW) wiper motor free of charge. I highly recommend using VW Assist if anyone's considering breakdown cover.
