Pubs with campsites

Yup, certainly something I'm interested in. Whilst I haven't tried any.....yet.... I found this free website.
http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ It has a good search facility and a "Pubs" section.

There is a dedicated Pubs with camping website but I believe they want £30 or so membership.

I've used the ukcampsite website a lot and found the reviews of the sites very useful indeed!

OK... I haven't been but............
While searching through the website above I came across The Green Man. It is pretty basic camping with only a toilet open from 7am till the pub closes but...

Long Itchington is a great place for real ale drinkers to visit with 6 pubs knocking out some cracking brews. The village has an annual beer festival with all pubs being the venues.

This has just gone to the top of our list!! Might have to get the AA to tow me home!!!

For those travelling to Europe via the tunnel or Dover, try these two pub campsites.

1. The Drum. http://www.thedruminn.com/drivingdirections.html - Not stayed here but great pub
2. Teh black horse.. http://www.thebestpubintheparish.com/ - had a fantastic meal here. Girlfriend even licked the print of her desert plate it was that good.

Both are just off the M20 motorway. Drum is closer. The tunnel is approx 5 mins from the drum.
As soon as i get my van back from Garage I will be trying one of these out.

Newbury, West Berkshire
I had found this as well. Only 8 pitches apparently, but good motorway connections and right on the doorstep of Downton Abbey country.

Great little campsite in centre of small village with pub attached that does excellent food and is also very dog friendly. Also has nice clean & modern shower block.

We also went there just prior to Christmas 23rd December 2011 I think it was. Great little site, very good food, the pies in particular were very good. The only one slight disappointment is that for a brewpub (which is what attracted me) the beer is decidedly average.

We were booked into go here a few weeks back in Old Frank (previous California), in fact it was the day that we went oop North and test drove New Frank the new California, unusually for us we were put of by the predictions of a good dumping of snow, to be fair it did snow round these parts with 2-3 inches or so but not quite as bad as predicted.

In October I'll be driving down from Glasgow to a Heineken Cup Round 1 rugby game at Northampton (Northampton Saints v Glasgow Warriors).
Anyone know of a pub-with-Cali-site off the M1 on way-ish to Northampton?
Probably for the Friday night with a ko 12.45 on Saturday.

Your welcome to use my drive Barry I live 15 miles from northampton :thumb

Not a pub with a campsite but more a campsite with a pub, oh and a brewery :laugh2

Red Shoot in the New Forest

We've stayed there and had a great time. Lovely spot with really nice facilities.

Well recommended.

Thanks for the very generous offer Calikev.
Very much appreciated, indeed.

It looks like our party has grown to more than a 4Motion can legally carry, though, so it's looking like borrowing the missus' car and an hotel job now I fear.

Ok mate good luck with your organising :thumb :thumb

Yes we have a comedian and electric hookup :rofl :rofl :rofl
It is an exclusive site you know :rofl

:rofl

Kev, you're a star!

Sykeside campsite in the lake district. Been a regular favourite of ours for some years, the Brotherswater Inn is on the site and does great food and B&B, there's also a bunk house facility and the camp site is open all year round. It's a great spot in winter and we've even been snowed in there at Easter!

There are plenty of great walks straight from the campsite too

Pickwick Inn, St. Issey, Cornwall. Never stayed there, had a holiday home within walking distance of it

The Golden Swan in Wilcot, Wilts is great with plenty of space, shower and toilets. Nice village pub in a lovely part of the country..just spent 2 weekends on the trot there. Loads of interesting sites nearby (Avebury, Long Barrow...)

We have used a few pub sites for one-night escapes - a Friday night in the pub followed by biking/boating on Saturday
Woodbridge Inn, near Pewsey, Wiltshire http://www.thewoodbridgeinn.co.uk/Camping.html
