Random switch?!

Just behind the driver seat on the B pillar about halfway up. What's it for?!

Manual is not enlightening me!

Also the recess behind the sliding door with four sprung clips (and a 12v charger socket at the top) - does that have a specific purpose?!

Is it for isolating the alarm when traveling on ferries?
I seem to think I've read that somewhere?

I think the recess by the sliding door is meant to be bottle holder, though it is not easy to get at in a California. My nephew has a Caravelle and with it's seating arrangement it is a handy feature. The 12 v socket is very handy for charging mobile phone, ipod and similar sized devices. :crazy
