Finally found it. Awning removed, new cargo door bottom hinge, trim prised and padded, table, blinds, tailgate, parcel shelf, underseat drawers, sliding seat mechanism, hose pipe on pop up roof supports, wedges here, there, everywhere, sitting in the back, stethoscope, ......on and on.
The rattle was high up on driver's side around cargo door, persistent on any rough surfaced road. Nope.
On yet another investigation I removed the plastic cover over the hydraulic roof ram. There is a Torx screw at one end, and a retaining plastic ledge at the other. This tiny piece of plastic ledge had broken.
Solution was to use self adhesive felt pads ( Lidl, Aldi etc) both inside and outside the cover. For good measure the little catch on the roof underside too.
Silence.
Then the sliding undersink doors started to rattle......
