Hi Everyone

We have a problem with the outdoor shower in the rear of our GC and wonder if anyone can offer advice/help please!

Not used the rear shower hose for a long time, but recently tried and hose would not push into and connect to the Quick-release coupling. The push bit wouldn't move to allow the hose to connect so we undid the Quick-release coupling and removed it. Fiddled and pushed the centre of the unit inwards with a punch then it moved to allow the hose to connect. This was when it was not connected to the water pipes but when we put the Quick-release coupling back in (reconnected to the water) and pushed the shower hose in, it went in but is leaking water.

Our hose connector has a black rubber seal on it, but online Reich replacements do not have the black rubber (see photos). We are wondering whether the black seal has come out of the coupling unit which might explain the leak. Not able to see where the seal might have come from in the coupling unit!
Would really appreciate it if anyone could look at their hose and tell us whether it has the black rubber seal where ours is! Or offer any other help. Trying to avoid another period in the VW garage :{{

Many thanks

Linda

There is a seal inside the fitting, it’s a black o ring, you should be able to see it. It can get frost damaged if not drained down fully and leak. My GC is with VW at the moment so can’t check if there is also an o ring on the shower hose.

Oh gosh! We did have a frost problem earlier this year because we hadn't drained the water fully which resulted in a problem with the wet room tap. This looks like a knock-on effect (not used the rear shower since last year). We definitely can't see a black o ring inside the fitting.
Will post if/when we hear from others as to whether the black o ring should also be on the hose side!

Great to have such a speedy response! The Forum is amazing. :}}}
