Relative humidity

Our Cali is our family car so, with the regular use, we don’t worry about humidity too much. However, we regularly run a dehumidifier in our caravan which is fantastic. It keeps it bone dry. Every so often, we run it overnight in the Cali.

With a daily runner it’s much less of a problem especially if the AirCon is used regularly or left on year round.

My van has been stood on the driveway for most of the winter. I have filled wardrobe dehumidifier bags which has prevented some damp forming.
The main living area is showing high humidity.
I have a couple of desiccant style bags on the dashboard but they don’t seem to be absorbing any moisture. More a case of the indicator turning pink and nothing else.
Any recommendations for other products other than an electric dehumidifier?

Driving the van from time to time with the AC on, temp on high and the windows open for an inch?
Just remember that the van isn't really watertight (roof, door and window rubbers). Every car you leave for a long time outside will suffer from condensation.
Also make sure you deblock the roof drains from time to time to ensure the water that gets under the roof, gets the way down to the outlets.

I've not read back the old parts of this thread but surely you have to take note of the current weather conditions? As I type near Manchester it is 11c with 83% relative humidity. The ventilation system alone will mean moisture levels in the van will track what's happening outside

When using the vehicle then Yes. But if the vehicle is parked up and locked not so much.
Ambient weather conditions, temperatures and humidity, can change very quickly but not so in the parked vehicle even though its not airtight. If you park up on a warm day with high humidity then if the temperature drops quickly, which it can, then you get condensation forming within the vehicle as the humid air within the vehicle will take some time to equilibrate with the air outside the vehicle.

With dark wind deflectors to hide things I crack the windows and allow the Cali breath. I also have a couple of dehumidifier packs in areas that don't have much if any air movement like the cupbaord space, wardrobe, trunk etc.

Yes and vice versa. I was responding to Ghostbuster who didn't mention any damp symptoms but was reporting high relative humidity levels......on a day when there was very high relative humidity levels everywhere. Opening a side door with a slight breeze would mean that any meter in the van would effectively be measuring fresh air, which that day, was damp.
