Can anyone advise if it is an easy / quick job to remove the bike rack? We are going on a week long trip to Scotland from Dorset, not taking bikes and if it can be done easily then may as well remove the bike rack?

Any advice greatly appreciated!

Not too bad to do. From memory you need to loosen the bolts by the rear lights and then it should almost lift off the tailgate. You should have stickers on the tailgate glass that show where the rack has to be fitted to line up properly.

Best if you do it with someone else to help you lift it on and off as it is reasonably heavy bulky.

cheers

Yes, as Alex said it's a very easy job.

If you open the tail gate and look where the rack meets the tailgate above the lights, you will see an allen bolt and bracket, this clamps to the tailgate. Loosen these allen bolts (one on each side) don't remove the allen bolt completely. When the clamps drop away from the bodywork the lower section of the rack is loose. With the tailgate down, it then simply unhooks from the top. It's aluminium, so not very heavy, but you obviously need to be careful you dont damage anything

There should already be alignment stickers on the rear window to show where to put it back, and there should also be protection tape at the four places the rack meets the paintwork.

Thank you both for the guidance - I'll attempt when my partner is home later on! Thanks
