Quick post on my effort to replace my seized 2nd arm with a Thule replacement which was 1/4 the price of the VW equivalent....
I ordered what was described as "Thule 52420 302mm EuroWay G2" and hoped it would fit. And fit it does, provided you have a metal file to file down some sticky out bits in the part which clamps around the rack. The outer holes are the same diameter, but the one ordered looks to fit on a narrower rack.
10 minutes, job done. Attached a pic for comparison of the arms after install.
