Has anyone retro fitted a fixed sliding door glass with one with an opening window?

Thinking of changing the driver-side door glass.

I thought of doing the exact opposite! Unless VW have finally sorted the leaking window “feature“ I would stick with a fixed glass panel. Might be worth checking out the numerous posts on the topic to see if there any T6 sufferers.

Two things to consider if you intend to fit OEM sliding windows....

1. Is it worth the £600 plus price of the sliding window unit?
   
   
2. Using all of the information available on various forums do you think you can fix the leak prone items (there are two points per window) before it is fitted to your van?

Personally I think the parts that become detached could be bonded together much better if you are able to do it with the window unit out of the vehicle and worked on with it upside down.
I've had four T5/6s, they have all leaked even after some being changed under warranty.

The other solution is to fit one of the after market types that are available.
