RFI - Removing the sliding door panel + handle repair

I think my sliding door handle may need adjusting or perhaps a new part. You have to pull it right to the limit before it opens and it feels a bit wrong when it does, kind of "twangs" instead of a solid click.

Has anyone had experience:

a) removing the panel with the table in.
b) repairing or adjusting the handle inside.

Would like to get it sorted before Denmark.

I did read on T6F that the teleflex cable can slip and cause this..

That sounds likely, I remember distinctly pulling away and hearing a loud twang noise, I guess that was the cable slipping. The handle didn't work quite right forever after that noise.
