Roadside assistance, VW or the AA..??

Excellent service in France when the auxiliary belt snapped. Turned up in twenty minutes, obviously not AA, but very competent. Assist sorted taxis etc and could have had a hire car but didnt need one. Very helpful which is more thsn I can say for the French dealer.
Just remember that you will have pay for repairs abroad if over two years old as warranty there is only two years.
 
In the past VW Assistance was partnered with the RAC but changed to the AA, sometime around the 2013/2014 mark, I think.

Yes it’s the Marco Polo owners that get the RAC now.

Incidentally, I just went through the exercise of changing breakdown cover for Mrs L and kids and thought the £171 AA offering was better, especially as they’re all covered as passengers in other vehicles also at no extra cost.
