Roof awning and Insect Repellent

Hi all,

Last year our cotton roof awning got attacked by insects of some sort. They caused quite a number of tiny little holes.
Is there some sort of (semi-permanent) insect repellent that you can spray on the outside as a precaution for this not to happen again?

did you get a solution to the insect damage, we seem to have a similar problem, half a dozen holes about 1mm diameter. Any recommended treatments

Do you have an LED light strip fitted to the awning…???

Be careful trying to use anything that contains "deet" in quantity. Its been known to damage man made materials. And its not particularly pleasant to humans either!

No LED strip In the awning or in the pop up roof, the attack manifests as small holes in the two front corner seams
