2012 T5 experiencing minor roof sagging for the first time. Strangely the auto tensioning function has kicked in a couple of times having never heard it before. Some nights no sagging at all. Suggests no major fault but what regular maintenance can I do to deter sagging?

We have experienced similar but reasonably minor and occasional sagging on our 2013SE but with no real consistency of when and why, other than perhaps climatic, in cold or very hot conditions. The auto tensioning kicks in on the 5 and 10 hours cycle as described in the handbook which is annoying during the night but one trick to avoid this is to retension via control panel just before going to bed. Not sure of maintenance to prevent this happening. Have always assumed it’s just one of a California’s many idiosyncrasies.

The timing is set from the Last Ignition Off, so just Switch Ignition On / Off.
