Just checking my electric kettle.
It’s got rust in its bottom.
Best way to solve?

1. Buy a new one.

2. Remove rust with wire wool.
And paint with hammerite

And it smells like metal water and plastic.
Not a good smell for a nice brew.

Just clean with kettle descaler. Bottom should be stainless so shouldn't rust.

Bicarb also works.

Make sure you rinse well before using.

Just realised how bad the picture is !
Can’t really see it.
If it’s stainless, then it can’t be rust.
I’ll try some Bi-carb, that’s a great idea, thank you.

Looks like corrosion (Not expert but informed and work with corrosion experts), but the image is poor. I would buy a replacement because anything you do to mitigate the issue will impact upon the taste of the water.

What's the pot got to say about all this?
