Scottish July trip

Better late than never but here goes.
Had our first BIg holiday away in the Van back in July - 18 days total, 1 day either end for travelling to/from Essex and 16 full days to explore.
Day one left Essex for Dumfries just as a quick stop for supplies and breakfast then onto Culzean for first of various campsites used. So many places, so many sights from craggy rocks, waterfalls, sea views, mountain views, steam train views from a soaked hillside one day and then from inside a carriage the next day, castles in ruins, castles still in use, beautiful gardens, dumb struck at Electric Brae (the van actually moved), river/loch boat ride, ski condolar up mountain, swam in lochs and the sea, saw beautiful silver horses, so much history to absorb,
Using our English Heritage and National Trust memberships we visited 31 places. We only used the wind out awning and walls, could believe how minimalist we packed the van and survived hahaha. Received such friendliness from people. Can’t wait to go back next year for an Island hopping holiday. Hubby took over 2,000 pictures.
