Hi All, I have managed to put a nice scratch in the kitchen trim of our Ocean ( the part that has the push handles in it). Has anyone ever replaced this part of the kitchen or know the VW part numbers as I don't think a touch up paint will do it....

I am not sure VW sell these parts separately, i think this trim is part of the full furniture carcass, large elements of this is glued together. You might be better getting a body shop to try and match the paint and ask if they can do a local retouch.

I don't think the paint is an option as the alloy is anodised not painted, as a last resort if I can't get the part it will have to be a sticker. I wonder what it should say ??

Did a repair and re-spray of this trim and made sure to prepare properly and finish off with a couple layers of matt gloss clear coat (1K) and must say it stays pretty good even after 12 months. Used matt gloss silver spray paint. Removed the complete top to make this all a bit easier.

Do you have any paint codes for the Grey ????

If it’s anything like the T6, which I imagine it is, it’s not a part that’s sold separately.

Would need to be painted or wrapped.I got someone to sprays ours and it looked great, just had to manually match the trim in terms of coooir.

Can’t find any separate part numbers for that trim.

The kitchen etc is delivered already assembled for installation. Only Part numbers are for doors, shelves, worktops, fridge and hob. Not trim.

As suggested, paint, sticker or “ Coach Line Tape “.

Hi thanks for looking as I could not find any either... I will be looking to do as Habo suggests and get it painted.
or get a sticker saying "don't help people move house"

Regards Terry

So I have been in to VW and the part of the kitchen is not sold on its own, the section is listed at £3600 so not an option to replace. I have a sticker on order and will also check out a paint option..

Have you thought of building up layers of Matt silver nail polish? Have done this on items at home in white

Or even an aluminium shade OPI autumn Megamix, the only problem with this idea might be that they might be too shiny.
Good luck finding a solution.

I’d take that to a detailer who will match that and polish it in

There are people out there who can do laminate floor repairs - and they use these soft crayons to blend a match in a scratch. Then polish in to make it disappear.
Also the same for plastic repair companies - had that done on a shower tray in a new build.
Not sure if your repair would be under warranty or its something you will have to pay for.
I would investigate this method and see what can be done.

Take it to a body repair firm.

All scratches can be taken out of aluminium using sandpapers. The only issue is that you need grits probably going from 220grit (very fine) to around 4,000 grit. Then finish with a metal polish.

In addition you’ll probably have to sand the whole strip to keep the colour constant.
