Are seat covers really waterproof?

Are there any faux fur ones out there that are also waterproof or is the best option to buy ugly waterproof covers and then put the faux fur ones on top?

Always think it's a shame to cover the existing seats as they are actually very nice.

We have the Inka ones and they are pretty good. They keep out all the dirt and muck and dampness (mainly from the wetsuit/shorts after paddle boarding as well as when I'm soaked from the rain)! Would recommend...
