Seeking recomendations for a stopover; Zeebrugge > Milan.

Hi everyone.
I'll be driving from zeebrugge to the lakes north of Milan.
As I don't fancy doing the full drive in a day, any ideas for a stopover?
I guess it will be in this area; strasbourg, saarbrucken, baden-baden although I'm open to suggestions.
I'm not against stopping in aires.

I can recommend this site in the Black Forest for a couple of nights - it's not far from Freiburg.

Maybe too far from the motorway for an overnight stop. It's only a short walk into St Peter from the site where there are good places to eat, drink etc.

Heading that way i think the more direct route is down to Lux then
onto Straßbourg heading down to Basel. Baden Baden is a bit of a detour.

Also further south, Colmar for instance has some decent sites.
