Servicing deal

My GC680 came with the 4 year warranty and also 4 services as part of the deal. I stuck it in for service after year 1 but this year the chaps at Glasgow VWCV (who have been excellent) said not to bother with the service at the moment as they are on long service intervals and the deal is 4 services not 4 years of services. He said it was far better to wait until needing services and then the 4 services will last years.
Has anyone else got this deal and can they confirm it’s 4 services and not limited to 4 years?
I am just back from 2 weeks in France on last leg of journey the oil level warning came up. Topped it up with 250ml and seems fine but wondering if I should get it serviced. At 14k miles (I think) and it got an oil change about a year ago.
otherwise the vans been going great. Waiting on a second step replacement but it does occasionally pop out half way just to say hello but not quite perform it’s step function.

We bought a 2019 GC680 privately with an existing service plan and it’s had 2 services and still has 2 more left, so sounds the same. We have just had the 2nd service at VW (at 4yrs old) with no issues….

Long service intervals enable manufacturers to sell their vehicles at competitive prices to fleet buyers. From a pure engineering perspective, the more often you change the oil, the better. Fleet buyers don't generally keep their vehicles much beyond 4 years, so longevity is not a major concern for them.

Engine oil begins to break down quite quickly when it has been used - even with low mileage, especially if left unused during the winter.

So personally, I always get the oil and filter changed every year because I am concerned about longevity and oil and filters are cheap. Just my 2p worth.

The dealer will tell you differently, but he's not going to help you in 5 years' time when your engine is prematurely f****d

be aware VWFS do routinely cancel service plans , I had my 2 service plan cancelled and Had to jump through hoops to get the second service reinstated

The servicing plan will be visible through VWCV Finance so registe and log in through there. You should then be able to see the service plan with number of services remaining and the expiry date. I know my dealer went in and manually altered the expiry date when it was set up, so it shows expiry after 6 years for the 3 service plan I have rather than the default 3 years.

I checked mine today, and service plan expires in 2029 so good to know it’s setup correctly. For my 3 service plan. Think I will do my own oil change on years when it doesn’t get a VW service since they say it’s every 2 years When they do it,
