Servicing?

My California is set to variable servicing not time/ milage I have been told. Not a fan of this system I have to say.
I'm not likely to do more than 5000 miles a year so should I at least change the oil annually or should I let the vehicle tell me when it needs changing?

Cali runs fully synthetic oil which is long life. I do around 9000 miles a year & service my van when it says it needs a service. This will be determined by either be distance or time & oil condition.

You can change the oil every year if you fancy, they hold eight litres which cost around £90. I am not sure what, if any, impact this may have on the ecu's service period equation.

The ECU can be set to long life or annual by the dealer, so I have been told. Can be done when you have your 1st service.
