side door locked shut

morning all, our sliding door won't open properly. servo motors whirr and lift, but not to the slide position. Have tried opening the door with and without the engine running, from inside and out. Has anyone else experienced this and maybe have a solution to share? (revision): I searched better, found this previous thread, it sounds identical to my problem:

My sliding door won’t open. It’s a manual door with power latch. The rear of the door seems to release (there is a noise from the motor), but not the front. Same issue whether I open from the inside or outside. When I lock and unlock it the lock button moves fine. Any thoughts?
