Sink cover hinge

Had a fabulous weekend away at the Chichester ccc site marred only by the fact that the hinge supporting the cooker lid seems to have broken and you have to push the lid backwards to shut it. It is the hinge furthest from the gas strut and nearest the fridge.
Is this a common problem I haven't heard about so far? Can't find anything on the forum...
Looks like yet another trip to the dealer for a warranty claim!

We have had two fail, the ones in the club shop are cheaper than VW as they quoted me over £60 !!
