Sliding door interior handle broken

Hi All,

The internal handle on our sliding door had decided to break. It's stuck n the pulled back position and will not return to forward position. It will not operate the door. The external handle is working.

Van is a 2015 T5.1 beach.

any ideas what it might be before I start open door surgery and do I need to take the complete door card off?

any ideas welcome!

You might be lucky & find its just the cable come unclipped. I had to replace the whole mechanism for mine last year. It took a couple of hours. You do need to remove the complete door card for access.

The hardest part its getting the correct mechanism - there are loads of different ones. I bought from https://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/deutscheparts. .Highly recomended They will check your chassis number etc to make sure you get the right one - mine was about £125.00 but have the electronic closing which I don't think you have on the beach?
