Sliding door scratches

When I got my Calis small scratches and swirls removed by a scratch doctor I was shown some small scratches on the wheel arch by him. He couldn’t do much with them unfortunately. The technician didn’t have a clue how they were made, he assumed they were stone chips. He did say the paint on the Cali was all original so no dodgy paint job gone wrong. Anyway found a thread on here about it which is quite alarming. So what I’ve done now is cover the scratches with some black insulation tape to see if it also gets scraped over the next few weeks. Photos attached of before and after tape. I quite like the look of the tape as long as it doesn’t drop off after 1 day ha ha. Do you think it is the sliding door making these scratches? Thanks for any replies.

Do you have an electric door ?
it would be that causing it, never managed to get mine fixed but still like having it.

No it’s a normal sliding door but has the soft close function. I’m thinking if the van is not level looking at it from the front or rear it could be touching the paintwork ever so slightly due to the weight of the doir. I’ll see if the tape gets marked and take it from there. I actually bought some PPF to put over the slight scratches but gave up after 4 attempts. Absolute nightmare to work with. When I thought I’d done a good job I’d notice my finger prints on the inside of it. Leave that sort of stuff to the professionals that’s what I say….

Parking on a slope with the slider on the uphill
Side makes our door very close to the wheel arch when opened. Our first van had scratches there where the table hadn’t quite been put back properly & rubbed.
