Does anyone have snow chains for their VW California Ocean 4motion? The wheels/tyres are 255/45/R18.

Any advice gratefully received, thanks.

Konig XG 12 Pro 240
i haven’t used them yet, they are low profile, Also note that the manual does not recommend snow chains for this tyre size.

Hi whiskymac, I have your vetry same query, what did you do in the end.. ? Have you tried the Konig XG 240 ?
Thanks

I got these - although I have never had to use them in earnest I have fitted them to familiarise myself with the process; seems fairly straightforward.

This was discussed years ago, but I can't find the posts, Isn't the problem that the tyre + the chain is too wide & the inside face of the chain ends up hitting something, I cant remember if it was the chain hitting the springs, or just the wheel arches when on full lock.

With the chain on it becomes the same width as a 275 tyre.

Thanks all
I spoke to a specialist online shop and they said only ones “officially” recommended for sales ( as in tried and tested ) are hugely expensive konig/Thule summit ( £ 540…!) went for second hand 17inch wheels and snow tyres, I thought that was a better investment
Went skiing in Apennines, plenty of snow, main roads mostly clear, and when off-road had no issues at all
