My first post here - I've had my 2008 T5 Cali just over a year, its been an education and most of that learning has been from this forum - so thanks!

We've been using it for short stays of 1 or 2 nights regularly, however we're off on our first expedition shortly - 9 nights in France. This will test storage capacity a bit, so I was wondering if its advisable to leave our mattress topper in the roof when we put the roof down. Its only 5cm thick memory foam (just enough to add a bit of comfort). I've no idea how much capacity / flexibility there is up there when the roof is down - any advice?

The general advice, and safest, would be no! The risk is deforming and damaging the roof panel. I wouldn't leave anything more than a sheet over the mattress up there.
You could consider changing out the entire mattress for a more comfortable one?

As above, we have a simple 5cm Dunelm topper but we NEVER leave it in situ with the roof down.
It appears to be fine to leave it there whilst the bed board is raised however.

Definitely leaving bedding etc upstairs while raising the bed board during the day is fine.

We didn't use a topper upstairs as T6.1 'springs' are comfy, but general advice is dont leave anything upstairs when shutting the roof.
