T4 California.. what to look out for when buying?

I'm currently looking to buy a t4 camper - preferably a california . Can any of you experienced owners give me some tips on what in particular to look out for with these? What do you like about yours? Any advise appreciated..

Genuine T4 Cali's are all LHD - not a problem but need to be aware
Bodies aren't as rustproof as T5's, so be looking at wheel arches and the panel under the wipers. The shells weren't galvanised.
Build quality of the conversion part is close to bullet-proof
T4 is more van-like to drive vs the car-like T5, particularly the position and length of the gear shift.
All the owners love them, and quite rightly so. Once parked up you'll be as comfortable in a £12k T4 as in a £55k T5
