Hi everyone.
I have a T5 vw bike rack. The rack has been excellent over the past few years - can easily carry 4 bikes. Recently I have purchased a couple of new mountain bikes - they are boost e.g. 110mm front axle, 148mm rear. I can now only carry two bikes.
Has anyone removed one of the bike tyre trays, so that the rack will take 3 bikes? I'm pretty sure that you can unscrew one of the trays, drill a new hole and tap it out? I would also look to customise one of the bars that holds the seat post/ cross bar. You should for example be able to cut down the one that holds the third bike in place.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has experience in the above.
Thanks. Paul
