MY22 now appears to wire the rear IBS to detect the rear battery voltage. If doing work in this area I would rewire my IBS like this if it was as depicted in the diagram in resources.

Could you elaborate/explain? Sounds interesting but I’m not understanding.

J1116 receives 12v from the vehicle side of S339.

If S339 blows J1116 no longer reads it's own battery voltage but the under seat (A1) battery voltage. An IBS with an incorrect voltage reading is pointless.

In the photo above I noticed that VW have corrected this error by connecting the 12V feed directly to battery A24.

I've buzzed the wire subsequently and A24 now powers J1116.

Not sure if there is a SB for earlier vehicles. I'd fix this myself if I had an earlier model having seen vw do it. I was concerned that there were ground loop issues on the LIN bus but it looks like VW just made a mistake in the earlier model year.
