T7 Spyshots.

The wet belt is still there and I suspect the problem it causes as well, but this is only true for the diesel engine. Wouldn't you opt for the petrol or petrol/hybrid engine?
The petrol PHEV plug-in hybrid with the Vehicle to Load option is in my opinion, by far the best option.

I note that there is only one pillow in the pic. So probably expecting people to sleep one up, one down. No nightime cuddles in the future, shame!
I suspect that the provision of a second pillow would shown just how narrow and cramped that bed is for two adults.

Asador Llorente.
It was a fair few years ago. Not sure if it’s still good or the same owners…?

Clearly not listening to the diehard Californarati or they would have gone a different route. They should have killed the Caddy Cali (I've yet to see one in the wild) and offered the Sharavan and a proper California with 2 burners and proper storage. That would have been a wonderful Caliverse.
Clearly with the deep doo doo VW is in currently with sales being down, profits down, factory closings... I think they should listen to the people.

I live in Germany, and I don't see many new Multivan on the road and they have been on sale for over a year. Yet the T6.1 Multivan has been out selling it... To many of us it's our equivalent to a Ford F150 in the USA.

I for one will not buy the new California or new Transport-sit. May as well just buy a nice Crafter conversion at those prices.

Same is true for the Buzz. Haven't seen one in the wild in over 6 months and they are built a few miles from me. Crazy.

I have seen a few, and even my colleague from work bought one of the first ones fully loaded. I have driven it actually and it's nice to drive, however the cheap plastic interior may fit a Dacia but not a 60k vehicle.

Still T6.1s are all over the place, which goes to show you don't mess with success. VW has extremely rough times ahead.

I have just seen the new VW California based on the Multivan in reality at the camper fair in Brussels this weekend. The roof bellows has the transparent seam sealer tape applied to the seams in both corners. The label on the bellows stated 01S.

The beach camper version was a bit of a let down: to make the bed, you need both outer chairs fully forward (almost against the front seats), and the middle chair requires lifting out to turn 180 degrees. Not practical, in my opinion…

Roofbed is considerably narrower too.
But the dash and space upfront is very nice indeed!

Shame.
As a Beach, I thought the Multivan might work quite well.
The Beach suits the occasional campers who need a daily which they can use on the weekends etc.

I agree it will look noice
But the two weeks I drove a 2.0tsi LWb T7Multivan, couldn’t wait to get out. Rattled and suspension was not the best. I think the new Westfalia Nugget might be a better drive o_O

Well, finally my comments after the look and feel during the kampeer&caravan days in Utrecht.
Let me beging with our conclusion...it is not a campervan for us.
We sat in it, looked at it closely and with open mind. But as my wife immediately said; "were are we going to put our camper gear? " Had also all info from the sales person. And as stated in this topic by various people the new Cali is NOT designed as a follow up from previous versions, it is more intended for weekend leisure, remote workers during week days and has a different, more luxurious drive ability. (the T6 Ocean drives perfectly for us by the way) As stated by the dutch importer, if you want a holiday suitable campervan we think the Westfalia (Ford) is more suitable for longer, couple of weeks durations. The T7 is not intended for such usage and is considered a premium VW product. It will be build in Hannover, together with the Buzz. (I have doubts if they can fill that large production facility with those two models)

So, if we want to have a new(er) van we probably go and look for the Ford Nugget Plus with hightop or poptop. The Grand Cali is too large for us (parking at home, in cities etc. and driving costs).

There was a lot of look and feel interest for the new Cali but I heard a lot asking if there were also still (new) T6's for sale....
