Yes, agree that’s what I’ve done.
Unless anyone else has managed to fix, I’ve decided to put up with it.
I don’t even have the cycle rack…

You can fit higher pressure gas struts but the downside is they can open very quickly and be difficult to close in hot weather.

I've noticed the last half inch of travel, I mean with the struts really full extended, it holds a lot more. Even in summer with bikes on the rack. But I have to push it to the very last bit.

Yeah, I had read that elsewhere.
But, it solves one problem to create another.
