Yes the pubs only claim to fame is that it is the highest in the land other than that it is no different to loads of pubs everywhere. Maybe they have spent a lot of money on toilets etc but that is their choice. We have been there four times now, three of which was with a group of friends who have campervans ranging in value from 10-15k because that is all they can afford. They are not tightarses, we all paid whatever the camping fee was which went to charity and we all ate and drank in the pub in evening and some had breakfast. Now however some people like this will not go simply because they can't afford it so many will lose the opportunity of visiting. Perhaps this is what the new owners want, only the well off who have expensive vans and spend without any worry. Getting to be a bit eletist IMO.
Incidentally, it is in a thread on their Facebook page where the owners are replying to someone where they state that they you have to eat in the pub if you stay overnight.
