Fantastic Camping and Caravan Club small site - 5 units plus tents.
£10 per night per unit (2 adults). One toilet and shower with washing up facility.
BEST thing about this great site is that it has a HUGE fire pit with seating. Most of the time there is wood there to burn but take your own if you have it! Great way of getting rid of old furniture etc (they just ask that you burn sensible items not plastic).
The site is fully grassed and well drained. If you have disposable bbq's then please use them on the concrete area. There are no burn/scorch marks on the grass and the site is well cared for.
Run by a lovely couple - they always make us feel welcome. Two local pubs selling good quality food. The Red Lion does Fish n Chips on a friday £10 each and the White Horse has an array of pub meals. A short walk away is the Banham Barrel opposite Banham Zoo. The Barrel is a cider shed pub selling own brewed cider and lovely beers. It is a small establishment but the staff are great and allow you to eat food from the takeaway next door. Just dispose of the wrapping in the local bin please.
They do sell rolls and crisps but when we last went there was six of us and we got enough food to feed the pub - the takeaway certainly take care of their customers!!
Small thing - you do have to be members of the C&C club as the owner will take your number and details down when she takes your money.
However for £10 a night (i don't know if she charges extra for little ones) but she doesn't charge for dogs you can't really go wrong.
Oh and also there is a little village shop that is open until 8pm that sells all sorts of goodies.
