The most pleasurable part of ownership so far…….

Good job! But you also did take the wheels off to clean them properly - that's very pleasurable as well!

I’ve always removed anything that made me a free dealer advertising hoarding. Generally just buy new plates though :D

The one I never understand is the cars driving around with dealer stickers on the back windscreen.

Wandahome stuck a oblong sticker on the boot of my car that's not much smaller than a 7 inch vinyl! Suffice to say it went after the awful buying experience they provided me!!!!

I’m on the other fence, I like to see dealer details on a number plate. As long as it’s on both front and rear plates. If the vehicle only has 1 number plate with details on then it may have been in an accident on the end with no details on the plate. I can understand if you have had a bad experience with the dealer on the plates though.

I see a Breeze affiliation a plus. EV would have been long gone.

Do you reckon they put that extra Breeze Van Centre name in little letters on the plate itself because there are loads of people like Pod sawing off the bottom bit?

(Actually, sadly, number plates must by law carry the name and postcode of the supplying outlet. Although I can't imagine Plod spends too much time checking that on roadside stops, unless the plates are obviously illegal eg with mis-spaced letters/numbers.)

Just read this as I sit in a car park and just one of the many cars here has a dealer name on the plate. Mine does but won’t for much longer

Thankfully it’s like the eye test at the optician, I can’t read that small print unless my nose is touching the plate so it’s ok.
Oddly, for me, I’ve got some 3D gel plates coming. Normally I’d swerve all of that bollox but I really like them.

I kept sticker on rear window on Audi. When I was colelcting the car, I mentioned to the dealer there's Portadown sticker on it (it was PDI'ed there). A few moments later it had Liverpool sticker. It was so small and hardly visible, that it never bothered me. I also kept sticker from Mangoletsi (near Manchester) on another car. You would know it came from there from original plate number anyway.
And on my 11y old import from Africa, you can still see outline of removed sticker with dealer name, when car is dusty.

I'm also happy to display Mercedes made private plates on my non-Mercedes cars, after all, they got me nice quality plates for free, when they didn't have to and I had good experience with them.

California has discreet Swindon plates.

If you keep your car/van long enough, original dealer stickers become cherished... in fact you can buy replica stickers for 70s/80s dealerships like Henlys and Arnold Clark.

Funny old world.

I had classic car with original stickers from Wales' dealer. It was part its history.

I need some new plates and really want some 3d gel plates, but worried people might thing I’m a bit of a knob

I don’t understand why anyone would want anything other than legal minimalist number plates. But if you like them, don’t give me a second thought…

But without the supplying dealer on the number plate it will pass an MOT. Weird huh !

On the right vehicle they actually look better than a normal flat plate. And don’t fade like flat plates do over time

I’ve been a bit of a nob most of my life so it’s fine.
They might look crap. Looked great on a bike I saw in a dealership.
might just get away with it since I don’t have a naff private plate.

I'll appease and annoy numerous when I say that I cant stand logos/names of dealers on my plates and windows - and as soon as I can, stick on my personal plate.

Which is a chavved short plate with raised solid lettering.

:D

Agreed. What I can't stand is when they put their ugly stickers and logos advertising their dealership on the boot. I think they use superglue to make it a total PITA to remove.

A plain private plate with raised 3d gel lettering in a Volkswagen black frame so there is no dealer advertising. With a blue Stripe and "UK" on so need for abhorrent white stickers when travelling in Europe. And Germans ask you "How the war with Russia is going"!

Still need white UK sticker in Spain (and a few other countries) I believe.

Never used a white sticker anywhere, including Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, BENELUX, Germany or Austria.

Just arrived. Very nice high quality. I was concerned they may be Chinese garbage but no.
Impressive.

Gives it a nice Germanic look. Obvs 50% will hate with a passion etc but I’m happy.
