i got some Thule smart panels for my T6 awning

it looks like most of the brackets in the box are not needed

There seems to be a big bracket that needs bolting to the front and 2 plastic brackets that have to be drilled and screwed to the bit that winds out.

These bits were in a bag marked 5102
However, the question that i have is, once i have done this, it looks like the aluminium pole that the panels hang off is just held in place by the bolt head on the van end.
Has anyone else fitted one of these and is that the case ?

Yes, wind the awning back in a touch to secure the pole, the slide in slot goes closest to "the bit the winds out"
