Thule Wingbar - won't lock. Any ideas?

Hi, I've the Thule wingbars with the low feet.

The plastic caps fit and lock perfectly when not on the van. When on the van the caps appear to fit but the lock doesn't want to turn (it feels like it might if I force It but the key would probably bend first)

Any tips on where I might be going wrong?

Typically trying to use it for the first time in anger an, well, its making me angry.... Getting dark too.

Try lifting the key as you turn it

The feet are probably slightly to close together on the wing bars so when they are clamped down onto the roof rails the caps bind. Might also be clamped onto the rails to hard.
Loosen the horizontal bolts that are behind the cap and pull on the feet so they move out a fraction then re tighten.
Mine were the same.

Many thanks for the replies. Lifting key didn't do it but I'll try loosening the feet etc tomorrow.

I struggled a bit with ours the first time and also pulled the key barrel out and put it in the other way up but eventually with a wiggle and a push they locked.
