I use a mole wrench of sorts to tighten my Campingaz regulator but I'm always concerned that I am going to over-tighten and somehow strip the thread or that I am going to shred the surface of the regulator. Any suggestions as to the right tools and technique for the job?

Instructions state hand tighten only....hope this helps.

Oh OK - I'd missed that one. Do you (or anyone) ever get any gas smell when you open the lid? I know it vents downwards but I guess I'm just being belt and braces

Hand tight here also.

Slightly off topic..... I overtightened a home brew barrel and it wrinkled the seal thus losing all pressure.... could be th esame with this.

On balance, I think I do what John does - i.e. hand tighten and then a small tweak with the wrench. Probably amounts to most people's hand tightening, as I'm a not the world's strongest person. Just opened the gas compartment for the first time in a couple of months and absolutely no smell of gas so I guess nothing's leaking. I also had the van habitation checked last year and the gas system passed with no problems.

Sorry about the beer. A very sad tale!
